Getting started

Start by choosing where the schedule belongs. If you are joining a team, accept its invitation and use the team’s workspace. If you are working independently, use your personal workspace.

1. Choose your workspace

Sign in and use the workspace selector in the top bar. Confirm that the selected workspace is the one that should own the project.

If the expected workspace is missing, check that you signed in with the email address used for the invitation. Ask the workspace’s administrator to check your invitation and access. See Workspaces.

2. Open or create the project

Open Projects and choose the job you are working on. Workspace Owners and Admins can create projects, subject to the workspace’s limits.

To create one, open New Project, enter the Project Name and Project ID, complete the relevant details, and choose Create Project. The creator becomes a Project Admin. If you do not have the creation action, ask a workspace administrator to create the project and add you to its team.

3. Import a schedule

Open the project’s Files page and start an import. Select your schedule file, review the schedules and import options presented, and finish the import.

Syncify supports Primavera P6 XER and Microsoft Project XML/MPP imports. Review P6 compatibility or Microsoft Project compatibility when source-file fidelity matters.

Importing and editing have different access requirements. Free personal use can import and view schedules; creating and editing schedules in a personal workspace requires paid access. See Roles and access.

4. Review the schedule

Open the imported schedule and check:

  • The schedule name and status date.
  • The WBS structure and activity count.
  • Important milestones and start/finish dates.
  • Calendars, relationships, and constraints that affect your plan.

Choose the project’s current schedule when it is ready to become the team’s working plan. Keep an appropriate reference schedule as a baseline. See Schedules.

5. Set up collaboration

For a team project, check the project team and assign appropriate Viewer, Editor, or Admin roles. To collect progress through the Progress Update module, have a Workspace Owner or Admin allocate a Premium slot to the project.

Then follow Progress updates to select a source schedule, set the reporting window, collect updates, and publish the result.
